Opposites Attract?

They were opposites but, she believed in the law that said opposites attract. Richa was a young, optimistic and ambitious girl, full of dreams and aspirations. Her family married her at a very young age to a boy who was just the opposite of how she was. Being an optimist, all her life she thought everything would be fine one day. Everything that she did to impress her husband and in-laws seems to have falling short of their sky high expectations. She was caged behind the golden bars of “mangalsutra.” Richa had a daughter named Riya. She decided to give everything to her daughter, that she was deprived of .Love, respect, independence and self confidence. She taught Riya to voice her opinion, to be brave enough to fight for her rights and independent enough to survive on her own. While teaching her all this, Richa was actually cementing all the dents which were engraved within her. She felt all powerful, seeing Riya , grow into a person ,that she always wanted to be. Riya was now a successful doctor.
Then came that day. The day that changed the the course of Richa’s life. She was left aghast when Riya declard that she wanted to spend her life with Natasha, whom they all knew as Riya’s best friend since childhood.
For a moment her world crumbled in front of her eyes, and to top it all she was being blamed by all to have brought her up with unjust freedom ,which was according to them was a reason enough for Riya to have grown up “that way”.
Sitting alone, while walking down the memory lane, she could visualize her life rolling infront of her eyes. Suddenly that law caught her attention, that same law which said “opposites attract”.Had anything of that sought ever happened to her? Did she ever find true love ,respect and compassion in that man who was of opposite sex as well of opposite composure and thinking?
That very moment she decided to set her daughter free. Free from all the inhibitions and expectations that this society had set for everyone ,to live a certain way.
That day, not only did she set Riya free but also set herself free..free from her ”opposite partner”, and moved on in life to be with people who were not her ”opposites”.

Mrs. Aruna Mathur

“Throw me to the wolves and I will return leading the pack.” Such has been the life of this wonderful and arduous lady. An educationist by profession, a compassionate philanthropist at heart, a  poetess, an excellent orator, a singer, a leader, a cancer survivor and to top it all a loving human being.

Mrs. Mathur was born in Jaipur, on 11th Nov.,1948. Eldest of the five siblings she was fortunate to have born to a father who was a partisan of educating a girl child. He encouraged her to learn and master all art forms, be it music , art or literature along with her studies. She did masters in political science, along with B.Ed and went on to do M.Ed as well. She also learnt  Computers , French and German languages which is quite rare for a woman to learn in those times.

She got married to Mr.G.S. Mathur, an engineer in the year 1973,and settled with him in the city of Ajmer. Here she started her career as a lecturer in STC(Saraswati Teachers training Centre),and went on to become its Vice Principal and later on its Principal as well. Thereafter she served as a Principal in Naraina B.Ed college for 10 years. She being a perfectionist was recognized for her exceptional term as a Principal and was awarded with The Governor’s teachers Award in the year 2000.

Being inclined towards social work she joined Lion’s Club Ajmer , which was administered predominantly by male members of the club. Her leadership qualities and her hard work again gained applause and she was chosen as the first female secretary of the club. She didn’t stop here and went on to become the first female President of the same club. Her self belief and hard work took her to new heights and here again she won the best Secretary and best President Award in her tenure. She has also been a member of Civil society club , Ajmer ,which is a very prestigious club .

Her love for different art forms began way back during her college days, when she used to sing on Jaipur radio station. In Ajmer she served as the director, vice president and as a cultural secretary of Kala Ankur, an arts organization which teaches music and different dance forms. She has always been a popular face in all the cultural events happening in the city, at times as a poetess, a moderator ,an anchor or as a guest. Her charm engulfs you the moment you hear her speak on the stage.

She has been conferred with numerous awards in different genres. These include-

But her real test was yet to come, life was going to wash her out against the ebb and flow of its harsh waves, as she lost her husband and her mother within a very short span of time. She was just coming out of her irreparable loss when she was diagnosed with Cancer on 21st Jan 2018.But as they say “when going gets tough, the tough gets going”, she fought the toughest battle of her life and came out  and defeated cancer as well. She was declared free from the disease within a span of one year.

She fondly remembers her late husband as her pillar of strength. She has a loving family which stood by her during her trials. It includes her two sons elder one Vibhor Mathur who is an engineer and  is married to Abhilasha Mathur, and younger  Vivek Mathur who is a doctor(cardiologist) by profession and is married to Pooja Mathur, along with her doting grandchildren.

Mrs Mathur’s amiable persona inspires all to conquer the world with sheer hardwork and strong will power .Her smile reflects the tough times she spent with courage. Her desire to work for bringing about a positive change in the society, at an age where most of us retire and sit back, is commendable. She believes strongly in empowering women and has worked all her life in doing the same. There is this couplet which she always recites when talking about encouraging women in our society to recognize their self-worth .

“Ae maon, behnon, betiyon, duniya ki zeenat tumse hai ,

Mulkon ki bastee ho tumhi, qaumon ki izzat tumse hai!”

I hope and wish she remains in good health and continues to inspire us by her strong grit and determination.

Nothing in this world can stop you!!!

AMBIKA HEDA

“She is a star”, I am sure, each and every soul, that has met her, must have felt the same.

Mrs. Ambika Heda was born on October,9th,1978 in Jaipur and thereafter married Mr.Sumit Heda, the eldest son of a very influential family of Ajmer.

She always wanted to create a niche for herself. Along with being a loving wife ,a dutiful daughter in  law and a caring mother to her sons, Aditya and Dhruva, she has a  compassion for every beating heart , who is in need. Her innate love and Gratitude towards the society and nation as a whole led her to lay the foundation of “FLYING BIRDS SOCIETY”, which works for the underprivileged children.

It aims to bring a positive change in their lives. The sole motive of this group is to share happiness among all.

In a very short span of two years FLYING BIRDS has managed to find its place in the hearts of all “Ajmerites”, which was eventually the goal of this society, i.e., to bring a smile on every face, and to lend a hand to everyone in need.

Along with being a passionate philanthropist, she is a graceful dancer and she still very fondly remembers the days when she used to run her dance classes. She is also a poetess, and loves to write in her free time, which she manages from her busy schedule.

And how can I not mention about “RICH LOOK”, a fast growing online imitation jewelry brand. It’s a perfect example of her entrepreneur skills, which again demonstrates how multitalented she is.

For all her achievements she never fails to give credit to her family, which is her backbone, or, for that matter, for any woman to succeed in achieving her dreams, family plays a vital role.

She is a true inspiration for every woman with a dream in their eyes to go out and paint the sky red, but with true humility and grace.

I am certain that sky is the limit for Mrs. Heda and wish that she continues to be the same warm and loving person as she is today….

More power to you!!!
